Meet Elmer

Elmer is a pocket steg. He is so tiny, he can easily fit into a pocket. The problem is, Elmer is scared all the time. When he was a quarter sized stegosaurus, he was out nom noming on some evergreen bark one day because he liked the flavor. Out of nowhere, a pine cone fell out of the tree and he became trapped in it for a full 4 hours! Now he is scared of pine cones and he refuses to go outside because he's scared there are pine cones waiting to gobble him up. He also doesn't like meeting new people because he's afraid that they have pine cones in their pocket.

When Elmer does go outside, he prefers to be in fields of tall grass. He thinks it's safer from the pine cones. He doesn't like to eat bark anymore - he only eats plain grass.

Poor Elmer longs to be able to go outside and play, but he is just too scared. Right now, the weather is also too cold for him to go out because he is cold blooded. If he goes outside, he will probably freeze. On the day of the big snow storm in New York, Elmer sat at the window and watched other people frolick in the snow. He was jealous, but he also felt safe because he knew that from up high, pine cones wouldn't be able to fall on him.

Look at Elmer longing to be an outdoors steg.
